The purpose of this paper is to help explain the new I.S.S. (Interchangeable Spout System) and the advantages and benefits of such a system.
Anyone who has ever molded an industrial style lid has likely had to change out spout inserts to meet their customers requirements. Not a fun job, but it had to be done. In the past there have been two basic choices for changing out spout systems. Retention through the front of the insert, or retention through the rear of the insert. Either you left dimples in the molded part (SHCS), or you consumed a great deal of time either filling dimples or changing inserts through the rear.
