Changing molds in machines is a time consuming and labor intensive process that is a necessary evil of injection molding. Unless a mold (or product) is married to a machine, one machine may be required to mold several different parts at different intervals through out the year. Naturally every time a new product must be molded, the mold must be changed. This process involves significant costs, as generally there is more than one technician assisting with the mold change.
